About the Club

Q: What is Bedford Tigers Netball Club?
A: We’re a friendly community netball club in Bedford, welcoming girls and women of all ages and abilities—from beginners to competitive players.

Q: Where do you play?
A: All training and home matches take place at Bedford Academy, giving our players a great indoor space to develop their skills.

Q: Who can join?
A: We welcome players from Year 1 through to adults. Everyone is encouraged to get involved, whatever your skill level.

Kit and Equipment

Q: What kit or equipment do players need?
A: Don’t worry—we provide most of the essentials! We supply:

  • Bibs for training and matches
  • Balls for practice and warm-ups
  • Players should bring:
  • Comfortable sportswear for outdoor courts (layers if it’s chilly)
  • Trainers or astro turf shoes with good grip for outdoor surfaces
  • Water bottles to stay hydrated

Q: What about match dresses?
A: For league games and tournaments, players wear the official Bedford Tigers match dress.

Q: Is club-branded clothing required?
A: No. Optional items like hoodies, jackets, and t-shirts are available for anyone who wants to show their Tigers spirit, but they’re completely optional.

Training & Matches

Q: When are training sessions?
A: Training times are grouped by age:

  • Years 1–3: 17:30 – 18:30
  • Years 4–6: 18:00 – 19:30
  • Years 7–11: 18:30 – 20:00
  • Adults: Training times vary

Q: Can parents stay to watch training?
A: Yes! Parents are welcome to stay and watch, but we ask that everyone stays in the designated viewing area to keep players safe and focused.

Q: Do all teams play matches?
A: Yes. Our teams compete in the Bedford and District League:

League Details:

  • Juniors Years 7–8: Sundays, 9:30 or 10:30, 1 x 40-minute game
  • Juniors Years 4–6: Sundays, 11:45, 12:15, or 12:45, 2 x 20-minute matches
  • Youth (Years 9–11): Wednesdays, 17:30 or 18:30
  • Adults: Monday–Thursday, 1 x 60-minute game

League Seasons:

  • Junior League: March – June
  • Youth League: September – April
  • Adult League: September – June

Q: Where are matches played?
A: Matches are held at Bedford Academy.

Parents & Volunteer Involvement

Q: Can parents get involved?
A: Yes, members are encouraged to volunteer at matches, help at events, or assist with coaching.

Q: Are there coaching or umpiring opportunities?
A: Definitely. We offer training pathways for parents or older players interested in coaching or officiating.

Q: Can volunteering help with Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) awards?
A: Yes, players who volunteer—coaching, umpiring, or helping at events—can count their contribution toward the volunteering section of the DofE award.
