The last weekend in April brought about Saffrons second win of the season in Bedford & District Division One.
After a dominating display in Saffrons grading tournament, winning everyone of their games and throwing them straight into the deep end and into Division One.
The league has been tough, as expected as this level but a confident display against bottom of the league, Shefford Storm, winning 31-14 raises all the girls confidence. A well deserved win after so much effort week in week out for the Saffron Tigers, sets up a challenging game full of opportunity against Maulden Cougars today (Sunday 4th May 2025).
With some standout performances throughout the team last week in both defence and attack, from HENDRICKSON, M holding a strong long across the back to ‘Coaches Player Of The Match’, MCGEE, T with the attacking prowess we come to expect from her. A well balanced all round performance should boost the girls for their 9.30am match up against a Maulden team sitting just below Saffrons in the table, a win would give that breathing space in the league.
This will leave a game against current second place Grangers Storm, currently placed second in the league to round off the season before getting into cup tournaments.
The Saffrons girls have really represented this season in the elite league for their level and have done the Tiger family proud. We are all here roaring them on to finish the season strong!
